Assembler

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assembler will assist in assembling metal structures and other shop tasks as needed.  Main duties will be to bolt together structures, install plywood, and other tasks related to ongoing projects. Other tasks can include palletizing parts, grinding, material shakeout from Laser, assisting Press Brake operators with large sheet bending, and other tasks as needed.  The direct supervisor for this position is the Assembly Lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Produce the highest quality work possible in accordance with and offer suggestions for improving K-zell Metal’s quality program.

2. Work productively and safely by following all company policies and procedures.

3. Help track job and shop costs by accurately entering information as required on the computer and shop records.

4. Assemble large structures.

5. Assist all departments in the shop where and when needed to complete assigned tasks.

6. Help maintain shop cleanliness.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Learn to use various shop tools .

2. Use shop computer for automated timecards and Quality documents.

3. Other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Must have organizational skills sufficient to complete multiple work assignments correctly and on-schedule.

2. Must have ability to follow directions.

3. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Ideal candidate will have work experience in a metal fabrication environment w/ preference given to experience using a band saw, cold saw, drill press, tape measure, hammer, chisels, files, and wrenches.

2. Must be able to multi-task and keep schedules.

3. Minimum of 1 year related experience or related technical trade education.

4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
