Assembly Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assembler Lead will direct Assemblers and other shop personnel in assembling metal structures and other mechanical and electrical equipment. Main duties will be to organize, schedule, and direct the work of the Assemblers in completing projects correctly, within time budgets, and safely. The position will also be responsible for coordinating the materials needed with the Production Spyder and communicating with Management about the progress of the project and helping to resolve any issues that arise. The direct supervisor for this position is the Shop Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervise Mechanical & Electrical Assemblers

2. Manage process of Assembly to ensure projects are completed on-time

3. Anticipate and resolve issues that could affect delivery or other areas of project

4. Help track job and shop costs by accurately entering information as required on the computer and shop records.

5. Maintain a safe working environment at all times

6. Communicate with Management about progress and issues related to project

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Use shop computer for automated timecards and Quality documents

2. Other duties as assigned.

1. Must have organizational skills sufficient to complete multiple work assignments correctly and on-schedule.

2. Must have ability to manage people

3. Must have ability to follow directions.

4. Must have above average skills at using a computer.

5. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Ideal candidate will have work experience in a metal fabrication environment

2. Must be able to multi-task and keep schedules.

3. Minimum of 3 years related experience, with supervisor related experience.

4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
