JOB SUMMARY:
The Fabrication / Assembly Supervisor has primary responsibility for managing all production that occurs during fabrication, welding (manual and robotic), finishing, polishing and assembly. The position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. The competent performance of the role will ensure high quality and safety standards are implemented in the efficient operation of the department to meet customer needs and expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Produce the highest quality work possible in accordance with estimated process times and offer suggestions for improving K-zell Metals’ quality program.
- Work productively and safely by following and enforcing all company policies and procedures.
- Help track job and shop costs by accurately entering information as required on the computer and shop travelers.
- Ensure K-zell Metals Safety policy is followed. Periodically review policy and submit recommend changes to management.
- Review processing schedules, production orders, inventory requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
- Review operations and confer with Engineering technical and/or management administrate staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Set and monitor product standard, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
- Planning and the scheduling of shop operations for the most efficient and profitable production.
- Mentor and train subordinates by developing short and long-term goals for their technical development. Establish a training program that increases the technical skills of shop employees.
- Hire, train, evaluate, discharge staff, and resolve personnel concerns.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implement a system for the opening and closing of K-zell facilities to provide security and safety.
2. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocations, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to learn all programming and management software used by K-zell Metals.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 years Fabrication/Assembly experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and MRP/ERP systems.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
